Keith Urban Is The First Australian To Be Invited To Join The Grand Ole Opry – Watch The Video Of Keith Being Invited
During the ‘All for the Hall’ concert Keith Urban got a big surprise Tuesday night when Vince Gill asked him to come back onstage and open a ‘present’. With Rascal Flatts, the Oak Ridge Boys and Diamond Rio watching, Vince announced that Keith was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry.
Keith was noticeably moved when unwrapping his ‘present’, from a large black sports bag, to find the signature Opry microphone stand inside.
He was at a loss for words and then started with: ‘My God, I don’t know what to say. Thank you so very much to everybody at the Grand Ole Opry for making this possible’. He stopped and looked at the stand again while Jay DeMarcus told him he was the first Australian to be invited. Keith then continued: ‘I’m shocked, I gotto say. It’s such a huge honor and how beautiful to have this happen tonight of all nights.’
He continued by thanking his management, record label, his band and crew and made sure to specifically thank his fans and the people of Nashville.
Ending with: ‘Thank you from the bottom of my heart, this means the world to me’.
While the crowd cheered and his fellow Opry members applauded, Vince Gill took the microphone again to announce that April 21st is the official date Keith will be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
Congratulations Keith! Well deserved.

Photo: One Look From Keith Urban Says It All…
Last week, we featured an article from the Australian Women’s Weekly magazine in which Keith Urban was quoted as saying, “We’re very, very tight as a family unit and the children are our life, but I know the order of my love,” the country music star tells the April issue The Australian Women’s Weekly. “It’s my wife and then my daughters. I just think it’s really important for the kids.”
It’s pretty obvious from the look Keith’s giving Nicole in the photo below from last night’s 2012 ACM Awards, that Keith wasn’t kidding…

Keith Urban – I Love Nicole More Than Our Kids
In the latest issue of The Australian Women’s Weekly, Keith Urban tells the magazine, “We’re very, very tight as a family unit and the children are our life, but I know the order of my love,” the country music star tells the April issue The Australian Women’s Weekly. “It’s my wife and then my daughters. I just think it’s really important for the kids.”
“There are too many parents who start to lose the plot a little and start to give all their love to the kids, and then the partner starts to go without. And then everybody loses. As a kid, all I needed to know was that my parents were solid. Kids shouldn’t feel like they are being favoured. It’s a dangerous place.”
