Don’t Mess With Kelly Clarkson, Or Blake Shelton Will Throat Punch You…

Recently, Kelly Clarkson has been attacked by many of her Twitter followers after she tweeted, “I love Ron Paul. I liked him a lot during the last Republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he’s got my vote. Too bad he probably won’t.”

Personally, I don’t have a problem with celebrities, musicians or even athletes tweeting about their religion, politics or favorite type of peanut butter, but, if they do go down that road, they’d better have some pretty tough skin.

Fortunately for Kelly, she’s got one of country music’s biggest stars pledging his support. Blake Shelton tweeted yesterday, “@kelly_clarkson I love you!!!! I’ll listen to your viewpoints anytime. And I really wouldn’t mind throat punching someone for you either!!”

My favorite part of Blake’s tweet is this sentence, “I’ll listen to your viewpoints anytime.” (Well, I really loved the throat punch comment as well…) Why? Because that’s what it is. Kelly is giving her view. One of my best friend’s political and religious views are directly opposite from mine, but that doesn’t mean I hate him. On the contrary, I actually enjoy talking to him because I get to hear a different perspective from my own. Fortunately, we do agree on a few things like the love of country music.

Anyway, without getting too deep on you, just wanted to share my view, which is to lighten up. Disagree with the view, but the not the person. Trust me, it can be done…
