Talk About Right Place, Right Time – March 9, 1964 Was A Lucky Day For The Statler Brothers

On this day back in 1964, The Statler Brothers were attending a Johnny Cash concert in Canton, OH, and ended up opening the show for Johnny because he was late. Cash added them as part of his touring cast for the next eight years. Now that’s being in the right place at the right time! Enjoy this look at Johnny Cash and The Statler Brothers together.

Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift And Carrie Underwood Are The Only 3 Country Singers On VH1′s ’100 Greatest Songs of the 00′s’

While VH1 is obviously not focused on country music, I’m still surprised at the lack of country songs on it’s new list of the 100 Greatest Songs of the 00′s.

The only three country songs on the list come from Johnny Cash (‘Hurt’ at #33), Taylor Swift (‘You Belong With Me’ at #50) and Carrie Underwood (‘Before He Cheats’ #99).

Below the videos for each of these songs, you can check out the complete top 100 and let us know your thoughts.

P.S. Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow’s ‘Picture’ came in at #46 and could be considered a country song.
